Well, I was going to say, “Hi, all!” and pursue my enquiry, but I see there are only 32 of us and it is some time since anybody posted. So I am not hopeful that anyone will actually see this query, let alone be sufficiently knowledgable to answer it. But here goes anyway.
Some panels are just a gathering of instruments on a rectangle, often black (as per the ‘blank panel’) but sometimes grey. That’s straightforward to customise. But others show a photographic background displaying eg the cowling, various notices, screws, etc, on top of which the working instruments are then placed. My question is, how do you import your own .png image to provide the background to a set of pre made instruments? Can’t find anything in the Wiki.

Hello, me! I’ve found the answer to my own question. So I’m posting it here in case anyone browsing wants to know. It’s sort of hidden in plain sight. I just needed to tick the ‘Custom’ box in the background section of the main Air Manager 4 page, and that allowed me to choose my own image to substitute for the background to an existing panel. Then instruments can be rearranged, changed etc to suit. My thanks to ‘Captain Bob’ from whose YouTube video on Air Manager I gained this information.
Now to sort out making part of that background photo transparent and click through…

Hello pilotoccifer,
I’ve just purchased Air Manager v4 and I’m still finding my way around. In your ‘background’ investigations did you discover how to create labels for custom switches? For instance, I created a battery master switch but would like to put the word ‘BATT’ above it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
